Day 3 - Marc is tired
Day 3 I can't get my Kindle to connect to the Internet here so I can't get this stuff uploaded to the blog which is irritating. I'm also quite tired. We aren't good at making our Disney trips very relaxing. So today was an early entry day at Disneyland which mostly just means that I have to get up an hour early. Technically it also means that we get to go on a bunch of rides with very short lines for the first hour. Max is still avoiding nearly all of the rides, so he and I went on Dumbo a couple of times while Kyrie, Jacob, and Ella went on Peter Pan. I guess Zoe was with me and Max also. She's very little and hard to remember. Anyway it went on like that throughout the morning...Kyrie getting to go on the fun rides with Jacob and sometimes Ella, while I followed Max around to hear his excuses about why he didn't want to go on each ride. "It's dark." "I don't like the queen (Alice in Wonderland)." "I don't want to get wet. " "It goes to outer space -I don't want to go to outer space!" It went on like that throughout the day. Finally we had lunch at the Blue Bayou which was excellent. The Blue Bayou is actually in the Pirates of the Carribbean ride so I thought that maybe Max would at least go on that, but unfortunately he wouldn't. "It has a waterfall!"
Here is my version of the day...
We all woke up super early again. Jacob and I went down to get Jamba Juice smoothies in Downtown Discey before returning to get the others to go to the park. Marc got something from the La Brea Bakery cart once it opened while we were waiting in line at the security checkpoint. Compared to WDW, it surprises me that you can be 1st in line if you arrive just 30 minutes before opening.
.
During the weeks before the trip I had prepared our touring plans. I used both Ridemax and Touringplans.com. So we all knew exactly where we were headed. Max was the kink in the plan. Marc and Zoe would have enjoyed all the so called "dark rides" that Max refused to go on. Bummer. Max did get to ride Dumbe three times though with no waiting. We got on a bunch of Fantasyland rides and then went to Tomorrowland. Max wouldn't ride Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters either. But, Marc DID get to ride Star Tours with Jacob so he did get the best ride of the morning. Star Tours was awesome!

We headed over to Blue Bayou for our 11:45am reservation. We asked for a waterside table and were given one even though they said the 11:30 reservations usually receive the waterside tables. (Good to know if that's important to you.) I'll do a separate dining review with food pictures if you're interested.

After lunch, we rode Pirates of the Caribbean. We really thought Max would make it on this ride. He's been on it before here and at WDW. He made it through the line and made Marc walk through the boat and off the other side to wait for us. We also went on the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Haunted Mansion. (Of course Max didn't go on either of them.) We grabbed a Tigger Tail from Pooh's Corner while we there. Actually it was a really long line to get it. It really was better than I expected though since I'm not a fan of siper sweet stuff or marshmallows.
.
Instead of going back to the hotel to rest like we probably should have at this point, we went to Tom Sawyer's Island. I think this was Max's favorite part of the day so far!
.
We were searching for a drink now and wandered through Adventureland. Since we were there Jacob and I decided to go on Indiana Jones. Max wanted to go too--go figure--this ride is the scariest in the park! He wasn't tall enough though. Jacob backed out at the last minute too and one of the cast members offered to let him sit there at the exit of the ride if I wanted to go alone. That was fine with Jacob so we did that. Max would have hated that ride! I think Jacob could have handled it though. (By the way, Marc rode this alone the day before so it's not like we never let him have any fun! He rode it again after I did while I took all the kids on the Jungle Cruise right by there.)
Since it was pretty late by now anyway, we went to ToonTown hoping the daytime rush was over. We had about a 20 minute wait for Gadget's Go Coaster but all the kids enjoyed the ride. Then Ella and I waited to meet Minnie and see her house while the rest explored all the other houses. We all went on Roger Rabbit and then grabbed some yucky pizza and a hotdog for dinner at the counter service place nearby. Marc was smart and held out. We left shortly after this instead of waiting to see the parade like we had planned. Marc got some food from Rancho del Zocalo to bring home.
